Third World Conference on Science and Soccer in Ghent

15-16 MAY 2012, GHENT - BELGIUM

Victoris, the valorisation centre for technological optimization, research & innovation in sport at the Ghent University and Gent Big in Creativity, invites you to attend the 3rd edition of the World Conference on Science and Soccer (WCSS) in Ghent, Belgium, in May 2012. The WCSS is a unique conference in which all stakeholders in sports and particularly soccer will be represented.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The conference will guarantee an outstanding conference program with contributions from experts both from the academia and within sport. Key topics relating to soccer will be covered on a full range of disciplines including talent identification, performance and match analysis, training & testing, medical examination, physiotherapy, injury prevention, biomechanics and refereeing. A team of internationally renowned speakers from Europe and around the world will provide information on the latest research findings in plenary and invited symposia. The conference will also provide a forum where soccer delegates from all over the world can meet and exchange ideas.

VENUE
The conference will take place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) located in the Citadel Park, in the heart of the city of Ghent.

IMPORTANT DATES
• Opening registration: 15th September 2011
• Deadline for abstract submission: 1st December 2011
• Notification to authors: 8th February 2012
• Deadline for early bird registration: 22nd February 2012
• Deadline for registration of presenting authors: 15th March 2012
